Wedmore Scouting

As Scouts, we believe in preparing young people with skills for life. We encourage our young people to do more, learn more and be more. No matter what their age, background or experience, young people can join our adventure, make many great friends and have a good deal of fun in the process. Activities are an integral part of Scouting. But as well as being challenging physically, our activities help young people set and achieve goals and grow in confidence. Adventure is at the heart of everything we do; as it is the single most important thing that sets Scouts apart.
We are almost back together In October, we received approval to re-start our meetings, under strict precaution to reduce the risk of infection. We put up the necessary signage in the Den, obtained hand sanitiser and cleaning solutions ready to start face-to-face meetings in November. Then, the second national lockdown arrived, so our Beaver, Cub and Scout meetings have turned to 'Zoom' to get things going, and will continue until Christmas. But, it is still our intention to hold face-to-face meetings as soon as possible in the New Year. These will be a little different from the past as it is likely that we will only be allowed to have 15 young people at each session, so these smaller 'groups' will meet on alternate weeks with the non-attending 'groups' given a task to complete ready for their next meeting.
