Caving, walking, trail biking, wildlife and spectacular scenery are all on the doorstep!

Although of  timber construction, the hut is well insulated and has a modern kitchen, toilet and shower facilities, as well as a drying room.

It also has a large hall for general use and sleeping in. Heating, when required, is provided by bottled gas convector heaters.

There is a grassed area at the side, and to the rear of the hut, which can be used for camping, or for outdoor games. To the front of the hut is a large stoned parking area.

The hut itself is located on the village boundary, but close enough to walk to the local shops.

The village has a ‘Paper’ shop that also sells sweets, stationery, and a wide range of grocery items, bread and dairy products, including milk. There are also butchers, a fish shop that also sells green groceries, and a number of ‘craft’ shops and restaurant, as well as pubs.

Wedmore just 10 miles by road off junction 22 on the M5, so Mendip Scout Base is very easy to get to
