The Data Protection Act and personal data

Under the Data Protection Act, anyone processing personal data must protect the information collected. 'Personal data' is any data that identifies you or your child, and we will deal with your personal data in compliance with the current UK data protection legislation.

Only the Leaders and Group Executive Committee have regular access to, and use, information collected by Wedmore Scout Group. However, information held by Wedmore Scout Group may be shared from time to time within Scouting, including the Headquarters of the Association. However, it will only be used in connection with your child’s membership of the Scout Movement. This will include membership management and communications.

Sometimes photos and video images of Members of Wedmore Scout Group taking part in activities are submitted to the local newspapers, the Wedmore Scout Group, District or County Newsletters and website, or put on display. Generally, the permission of the child’s parent / guardian is sought before doing this.
