Want to lend a hand or help out?

As a parent of a child in the Group, you can help the Group, and its Leaders, by lending a hand with special activities or at meetings. If you can’t manage this, there is always need for ad-hoc support on specific occasions; fund-raising events, repairing equipment and so on.

One thing is certain - joining other adults, in supporting your Group, will not only provide fulfilment but also a lot of fun. Before thinking of offering support, most people will be asking themselves all sorts of questions. For example:

Don’t worry, such questions are quite normal, but they do suggest that, like the rest of us, you need support. Whether you are going to be working with young people, other adults, or supporting the Group in another capacity, you are not expected to be able to get started on your own -we’ll be there to help.

If you want to help, please have a chat with your child’s Leader. With, or without past experience, help will be at hand.

Alternatively, if you cannot find time to help with a Section, then you could help by fundraising, general maintenance of the scout hut, or by serving on the Group Executive Committee.
