This is a real opportunity for those, who in the past enjoyed their Scouting or Guiding, to share their knowledge with a younger generation - and to enjoy themselves at the same time

You may feel that you have no skills to offer Scouting - but everyone has something to give.  Doing things such as making squash and organising games means the Leader has more time to spend with the young people. 

If you don’t have time in the evenings when Groups meet could you use your work skills to help out. Perhaps you could take a group of young people to your place of work such as a police station, or garden centre. Helping in this way does not involve any responsibility for the management of the Section. On the other hand, you may have special skills, so that you can be a Skills Instructors to provide more specialised support, for climbing, caving, etc.

You could, for example, help with running games, teaching new skills, keeping records, or working with small groups. The role can involve a regular weekly commitment, a rota with others, or just for particular activities.
