Joining the Beaver Scout Colony

Once you’ve been to your first meeting, you’ll soon find that you are ready to join the Colony and find out what Beaver Scouting is all about.

To do this you need to learn the Beaver Promise for your Investiture, it is:

‘I promise that I will do my best, to be kind and helpful and to love God.

Your Investiture is a special day when you make your Promise for the first time. Then you become a member of the Wedmore Beaver Colony and the world wide Scout Movement.

Wedmore Group ScarfWhen you are invested as a Beaver Scout you will receive the Membership Award, and will be given a lemon coloured scarf (sometimes called a ‘necker’) with the ‘Isle of Wedmore’ badge on it, to show that you belong to Wedmore Group.

Your parents and family usually come to hear you make your promise, at the investiture ceremony.
