Availability

Mendip Scout Base is normally available during all school holiday periods, for weekend and midweek use. During school term times, the hut is used by Wedmore Scout Group and is only available from 9.30 pm on a Friday night, for the weekend. Alternate timings for weekend lets may be made by arrangement, but only if it is convenient for Wedmore Scout Group to do so.

The Scout Base is available for letting during the day, and on some evenings during school term times, and may be available at other times depending on the booking schedule.

Bookings

Bookings must be made using a ‘Booking Form & Hire Agreement’ sheet; and the Group’s ‘Standard Conditions of Hire’ applies to all bookings.

Payment

A non-returnable deposit of £15.00 per night is required, which will be deducted from the overall cost of the booking. Deposits must be received within 14 days of the provisional booking being made - otherwise the booking will lapse. The final payment is due one month before arrival at the Scout Base. Cheques are to be made payable to ‘Wedmore Scout Group’.

Vacation

Normally, during school holiday periods, incoming groups should arrive after 2.00 pm, and leaving groups are required to vacate the Scout Base by noon. At the end of weekend lets, the Scout Base is required to be vacated no later than 5.00 pm.

Respect

Wedmore Scout Group expects all users to respect the condition of the property and to leave it in the same state of cleanliness and tidiness as it was found - or better!   Please give due regard for nearby properties, as well as the surrounding fields and countryside. Breakage’s, damage or additional cleaning that may be required, must be paid for.
